FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Everything you need to know about how ClearSign works.

Is ClearSign legal advice?

No. ClearSign highlights potentially risky or unfair clauses using automated analysis, but it's not a substitute for advice from a qualified solicitor. For a specific legal issue or dispute, speak to a solicitor or a service like Justice for Tenants.

What happens to the document I upload?

Your document is processed to generate your report and isn't stored on our servers beyond that, unless you choose to save it. Saved reports are kept in your browser, not on our servers. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Is ClearSign free?

Yes — every tool is free to try, with 2 uses per tool per month. ClearSign Pro (from £3.99/month) gives unlimited use plus extra features like the Move-in Checklist and Inventory Report Builder.

Does ClearSign work for Scotland or Northern Ireland?

ClearSign is built around tenancy law in England and Wales. Scotland and Northern Ireland have different tenancy legislation, so results may not be accurate for agreements from those regions.

Can I cancel Pro anytime?

Yes, cancel anytime — you'll keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period.

Do you share my data with landlords or letting agents?

No. We don't share your tenancy agreement content with any third party except where required by law. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Is my saved report safe if I clear my browser data?

Saved reports are currently stored in your browser (local storage), so clearing your browser data or switching devices will remove them. We're working on more permanent storage for the future.
